Week 14 NFL: Late Afternoon and Sunday Night Games: Quick Picks!

We have an action packed schedule for the late afternoon games this week and a Sunday night game that will not disappoint! Let's get into the picks this week and see if we can cash in.

Late Afternoon Games

Las Vegas Raiders (+140) vs. Indianapolis Colts (-160)... Spread: Colts (-3)

The Raiders almost lost to the New York Jets last week and the Colts are coming off a huge divisional win over the Houston Texans. QB Philip Rivers and the offense will do enough to allow their defense to stifle the run game of the Raiders and force QB Derek Carr to beat them. Let's take the Colts -3 on the road in this important AFC matchup with huge playoff implications.

Prediction: Colts -3 (-110)

Seattle Seahawks (-1100) vs. New York Jets (+650)... Spread: Seahawks (-15)

The Jets are winless on the season, but they have shown much more promise when QB Sam Darnold is healthy and starting. They should have won last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, but thanks to Dr. Heat (now fired) they blew it on the last play of the game. The Seahawks are coming off an upset loss to the New York Giants in week 13 and they have been slumping after a hot start to the season. Wilson has looked average of late, but he has a chance to turn it around against the worst team in football. But, the spread is massive in the Seahawks' favor, so let's take the Jets to cover at +15 in what will probably be a boring game.

Prediction: Jets +15 (-105)

Detroit Lions (+320) vs. Green Bay Packers (-440)... Spread: Packers (-8.5)

The Lions are now in the post 'Matt Patricia' era and are 1-0 since the firing of him and the GM. In week 12, they defeated the Chicago Bears due to a last-minute gaff from QB Mitch Trubisky. The Lions are not making the playoffs in 2020, but they are facing one of their biggest rivals this week and that will give them extra motivation to perform. The Packers are 9-3 on the season and are chasing that #1 seed in the NFC. They are coming off a dominant 30-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles and are looking like a legit Super Bowl contender. QB Aaron Rodgers had another huge performance with 3 TD's against a solid defense. So, I don't see how this Lions defense will be able to stop the Packers' offense. Hammer the Packers in this game.

Prediction: Packers -8.5 (-115)

Los Angelas Chargers (-115) vs. Atlanta Falcons (-105)... Spread: Chargers (-1)

The Falcons had a rough start to the season, but have played much better of late with a big victory over the Las Vegas Raiders and a close loss to the New Orleans Saints. However, WR Julio Jones is forced to miss this game due to injury and that could be the slight difference in the outcome of this game. The Chargers got embarrassed last week against the New England Patriots with a 45-0 loss. I have picked the Chargers in too many games this season and they have failed me pretty much every time, so my luck (and there's) has to turn eventually right? Let's take the Chargers to win at home in this 'pick-em' game.

Prediction: Chargers Moneyline (-115)

San Francisco 49ers (-145) vs. Washington Football Team (+115)... Spread: 49ers (-3)

The Football Team are coming off of a huge win over the "best team" in football, the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are battling for 1st place in the NFC East and the comeback story of QB Alex Smith is one of the bright spots of 2020. But, the Football Team will rely on their defense to carry them to victory once again this week. The 49ers' playoff hopes are over and they have been decimated by injuries all season. When healthy, this 49ers team can be a Super Bowl contender, but their 2020 season is one to forget. This could be a very low scoring game with both teams having below average offenses and solid defenses. Look for the Football Team to cover the 3 point spread and maybe even pull off the mini upset.

Prediction: Football Team +3 (-115)

Philadelphia Eagles (+310) vs. New Orleans Saints (-420)... Spread: Saints (-8.5)

We have the highly anticipated juggernaut matchup between QB's Taysom Hill and Jalen Hurts. The Saints had a bit of a scare last week with a close victory over the Atlanta Falcons, but their defense has stepped up since the absence of QB Drew Brees and they have carried them to a 10-2 record on the season. They will look to keep it rolling and push for that coveted 1st seed in the NFC. The Eagles have been absolute trash this season and now QB Carson Wentz is on the bench in place of Hurts. Hurts will bring a different dynamic to this offense with his running ability, but the Eagles sewered him for his first start in the NFL as they are taking on one of the top teams in the NFL. This game will be a battle of the 'defenses' as both offenses are struggling to put points on the board. So let's take the Eagles to be competitive in this game and cover the wide 8.5 point spread.

Prediction: Eagles +8.5 (-115)

Sunday Night Game

Buffalo Bills (-135) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (+115)... Spread: Bills (-2.5)

In week 12, the Bills defeated the San Fransisco 49ers convincingly 34-24 in a primetime Monday night showdown. The Bills have had an 'up and down' season so far and are just ahead of the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. Their defense was shaky at the beginning of the season, but they are starting to come around. QB Josh Allen had a huge 4 TD performance with 375 passing yards in week 12 but will have a harder matchup against the Steelers, even with their top CB Joe Haden not in the lineup. The Steelers are coming off of their first loss of the season in week 13 and are looking to bounce back against another top contender in the AFC. But, the return of RB James Conner will hope to spark the running game that went flat in his absence. However, with all the injuries the Steelers have and with the NFL trying to screw them over with the scheduling, there is no way the Bills will lose at home. I'm surprised the spread is only at 2.5 points, so let's hammer the Bills in this spot with confidence.

Prediction: Bills -2.5 (-115)
