UFC 252 Main Card Preview, Odds and Predictions!

Get your popcorn ready for UFC 252 on Saturday night. Here are the previews and predictions for the first 3 fights on the main card.

(Does Rozenstruik have superhero power???)

Heavyweight Matchup- Junior Dos Santos (21-7-0) vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik (10-1-0)

Dos Santos is a legend. However, he is coming off 2 losses by KO/TKO from Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou. As far as my money goes, I'm not sure if I want to bet on someone who got out struck and knocked out by Curtis 'Heavyweight Khabib' Blaydes. With that being said, Dos Santos was in amazing shape at the weigh-ins and is looking to make one more run at the title. He has an outstanding resume with notable wins over Stipe Miocic, Cain Velasquez, and Fabrício Werdum in his illustrious career. On the other hand, Rozenstruik has been a KO machine in the UFC thus far. But, his last fight didn't go his way when he got mauled by Ngannou in the first round. Before that fight he was on a tear in the UFC with 4 straight KO/TKO finishes and was looking like an emerging title contender. He hopes to have a huge with over Dos Santos so he can climb the Heavyweight ladder once again. Both of these fighters train at American Top Team and it will be interesting to see if they have insider info on each other. In my mind, I see either a KO/TKO win by Rozenstruik or a decision win by Dos Santos. We like knockouts here at FullStack Sports, so let's go with Rozenstruik to put this old man out of his misery.

Prediction: Rozenstruik (-130)

Bulldogs Risky Bet: Rozenstruik by KO/TKO (-115)

Bantamweight Matchup (135)- John Dodson (22-11-0) vs Merab Dvalishvili (11-4-0)

Dodson is a legend of the sport and it seems like he's been around forever. Dodson is getting up in age now at 35 years old, but he is looking to rejuvenate his career. He's coming off a huge victory against UFC prospect Nathaniel Wood and looking to keep his momentum going after signing a new deal with the UFC. Dodson has always fought the cream of the crop as his last 3 losses have come to Petr Yan, Jimmie Rivera, and Marlon Moraes. However, he will have his hands full with Dvalishvili. They don't call him 'The Machine' for nothing. His last fight was an unanimous victory over Gustavo Lopez where he scored a record 13 takedowns on his opponent. At 29 years old, Dvalishvili has been getting better each fight as he trains with the Serra-Longo Fight Team along side Aljamain Sterling. Dodson has never been finished in his career, so I am going to go with a Dvalishvili decision victory due to his constant pressure and takedowns.

Prediction: Dvalishvili (-250)

Bulldogs Risky Bet: Dvalishvili by Decision (-190)

Featherweight Matchup (145)- Herbert Burns (11-2-0) vs Daniel Pineda (18-11-0)

This fight was initially scheduled on the undercard for UFC 252, but a fight on the main card got cancelled due to COVID so here we are. Herbert Burns is the brother of Welterweight top contender Gilbert Burns, but he is starting to make a name for himself in the UFC. Burns is riding a 5 fight win streak and coming off a big submission victory over Evan Dunham. However, he came in on the scales for this fight 3.5 pounds over weight, so we will have to see how much that affects his performance. On the other side of the octagon is Pineda. Pineda hasn't fought in the UFC since 2014 and has bounced around other organizations since then. He is a vet at 35 years old and will look to snap Burns' winning streak. NONE of Pineda's fights have gone the distance, and only 18% of Burns' fights have, so we can expect a finish in this one. Also, Burns will have a 3.5 inch reach advantage in this fight. Look for Burns to shine in this main card spot with a big victory Saturday night. Let's go with Burns to take this one inside distance with a submission or KO/TKO.

Prediction: Burns (-260)

Bulldogs Risky Bet: Burns wins in Round 1 (+150)
