NFL Sunday Night Football: Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks Preview, Odds, and Prediction
We have a huge game in the NFC on Sunday night as the undefeated Seattle Seahawks will take on the Arizona Cardinals. In this matchup, two potent offenses will hit the field Sunday and we should expect a high scoring game.
Arizona Cardinals (+165) vs. Seattle Seahawks (-190)... Spread: Seahawks (-3.5)
The Cardinals have had a good start to the year, but they've managed to take advantage of an easy schedule. They have a 4-2 record this season and are coming off a huge 38-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys in week 6. However, their 2 losses this year have come to very average football teams that include the Detroit Lions and the Carolina Panthers. In week 7, QB Kyler Murray will look to take advantage of a Seahawks defense that is riddled with injuries and he will look to air the ball out all night to WR's DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, and maybe even Andy Isabela will finally catch one of those 70 years bombs they throw his way. The Cardinals have one of the deepest receiving cores in the league, and there will be plenty of opportunities to expose this hobbled Seahawks secondary that is allowing on average 27 points per game. Also, the 1-2 threat in the backfield with RB's Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds is becoming very dangerous as they are playing well and causing trouble for opposing defenses. In week 6, Drake had164 rushing yards and scored ran for 2 TD's, and he will hope to keep rolling in week 7. But, the Cardinals will be without LB Chandler Jones, which is a massive loss. So, If they have any chance of winning this game, they will have to limit QB Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to field goals and limit the TD's in the red zone.
The undefeated Seahawks are 5-0 and looking like one of the front runners for the Super Bowl this year. Despite their injuries on defense, they have been on a roll and QB Russell Wilson is having an MVP season so far in 2020. The Seahawks are coming off a bye week, so their last game in week 5 where they barely beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-26. But, they have had a week off to rest and prepare for the Cardinals, so I expect them to come out hard in this one. Also, RB Chris Carson has been consistent this year and has been a reliable player in the red zone as he has a total of 9 TD's so far in 2020. He has been a great change of pace RB and complements Wilson's potent passing attack. However, once again, the Seahawks defense will be a major question mark in this game due to injuries. They will be without S Jamal Adams once again this week and their secondary will have to come up big against a strong Cardinals offense. But, despite the injuries, I am going to go with the Seahawks in this game to cover the 3.5 spread. The Cardinals seem to struggle against good competition, and the Seahawks are as good as it gets. Plus the loss of all-star LB Chandler Jones is crushing and I think Wilson and the Seahawks offense will carve up the Cardinals defense all night. It's just up to the Seahawks defense to play average and make timely stops and try to solve the puzzle of QB Kyler Murray, which has been a daunting task for most teams.
Prediction: Seahawks Cover Spread -3.5 (-115)
