Fight for First place!
Colorado Avalanche (-115) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (+100)
The Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights are battling for 1st place in the last game of the round-robin. The Avalanche are coming off a convincing 4-0 win against the Dallas Stars and have looked great on both ends of the ice so far. In my opinion, the Avalanche are looking like the front-runners to win the cup this year, and they are licking their chops at the opportunity to face the Chicago Blackhawks in the next round. They just have to hope that former Hart Trophy finalist Ryan Reaves doesn't get in their way of first place.
On the other side, the Golden Knights are scorching hot right now and coming off a 6-4 win over the St.Louis Blues. I've taken the Golden Knights to lose in both games and they have proved me wrong each time. Last game we saw Marc-Andre Fleury between the pipes, but we are expecting Robin Lehner to suit up after taking a game off. However, this is not confirmed, but the Golden Knights have a 'good' problem in net with 2 reliable goalies. Also, the Golden Knights will be without Max Pacioretty again, which is a major loss to their offense. Despite not having Pacioretty, the Golden Knights have looked very strong offensively by scoring 6 goals against a Blues team who prides themselves on their defensive game.
This should be a fast-paced entertaining game. I know both of these teams want this one bad for the chance to play the Blackhawks in the next round. But, I think the Avalanche are too strong and have much more depth than the Golden Knights. Unless the Golden Knights goalie can steal one, I see the Avalanche cruising to victory and claiming first place in the Western Conference with a big game from Mikko Rantanen.
Have to go with the Avalanche to stay undefeated here at (-115)
